There is something so refreshing about a 4-day workweek. It always makes the days seem to go by faster with more items getting checked off the to-do list. I have been in full-blown nesting mode this week. The closer we get to baby’s arrival, the more motivated I am to complete my lists of baby prep items. It has been so wonderful seeing the nursery really come together and really cleaning the house to make it ready for baby. I will caveat this by saying with my third-trimester fatigue, everything does take me a lot longer to do. So even though my motivation is really high, there is a limit to what gets done during the day.

The closer we get to our baby’s arrival, the happier and more nervous I get. I cannot wait to meet our little one. But I’m sure like most first-time parents, we are nervous about what it will be like welcoming the new addition home. With still practicing social distancing due to the coronavirus, we have been taking birth and newborn classes online. While it is certainly a different experience than we imagined, it is great to still be able to get the information.
The following are a few of my favorite things from this week that were sure to put a smile on my face. If there was something that brought a smile to your face this week, be sure to let me know in the comment section below!

baby gund Animated elephant toy
I’ve had a lot of family members recently have babies, and this was a gift that my mom bought for a number of them. They gave rave reviews about how much their babies loved dancing along with the song. And lucky for me, my mom sent us our very own dancing elephant for our baby.
I cannot tell you how cute this little elephant is. I may have cried a little when my husband and I were dancing to the song, trying it out for the first time (I’m going to blame the hormones for this). But if you have a little one at home, or like me are expecting a little one, this is a perfect gift for them that will provide endless entertainment.
Freezer pops
The temperatures in Texas have started getting quite warm already. There have been a few days where it felt much closer to July or August than May weather. With these warm days, I have been looking for some alternate snacks that still sound good to eat in the heat. Fortunately for me, our neighbors had some freezer pops that they were willing to share. I honestly cannot remember the last time I had one of these – I probably was around 10 or 12, but it really hit the spot.
After having one, I decided to buy a couple freezer pops to throw in our freezer. They have been great snacks to have after a workout or doing some yard work. And I can tell its just not a weird pregnancy craving because now my husband and our neighbors are all eating them as well.
